I created two separate pieces, but also kept in mind a final structure that they could create when put together. I wanted to interpret the natural form that inspired me from Jacqueline Ray's work, and so tried to create a scale like effect on my long sculpture and then a kind of orange peel effect on my spherical shape. I used simple materials; foil, natural string and drawing pins. I included the silver foil on my second piece (the long sculpture) to try and create a contrast in colour and texture to my yellow gold drawing pins. Something I also appreciated from Jacqueline's work, whereas she used gold to contrast with the blue. I really enjoyed the effect the drawing pins gave when aligned next to one another.. Creating symmetry and depth on the sphere, and adding curve and body to the long sculpture.
Apologies however to the poor quality of photo's. I only had access to my 3mp camera on my phone, and so had to make the best out of what I'd got!
